St Peter's Church

St Peter's Church is usually called the convict church. It was built by the convicts and used by them for regular worship. It became surplus to the requirements of the prison service and was sold to a private person a couple of years ago. The interior of the church is remarkable and even more impressive than the exterior. A convicted murderess decorated the church with an extensive black and white mosaic. The church is a listed building and the owners are prevented from changing it but unfortunately it is no longer open to the public or even prisoners.
